I had wanted a kitchen garden for a while, but time never seemed to be on our side when it came to creating one. But this year, we made that time. Four simple raised beds and a collection of terra cotta pots surrounded by a woven willow fence and flowers laid the foundation for our small patch of vegetables and herbs. Water, sunshine, wait, repeat. Now, a delicate tangle of vines and stalks have started creating shape to this little plot, and walking by on warm afternoons to pluck a crunchy green pod has been a joy I didn't know I was missing.
